. . .

Lifestylez.org is a project of Legacy Community Health Services and is funded through a grant from the City of Houston Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of HIV/STD and Viral Hepatitis Prevention. Lifestylez.org seeks to promote positive health-seeking behaviors by educating urban youth and young adults about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Because more and more people use the Internet to seek health information, to network with friends, and to meet people for sexual encounters, the Internet is a great place to reach people with HIV and STD prevention information. Besides written information on HIV/AIDS, STDs, safer sex and risk-reduction information, lifestylez.org uses video vignettes to introduce website visitors to people living with HIV, educators who have dedicated their lives to informing people about HIV/AIDS and STDs. Lifestylez.org also hopes to hear from website visitors through comments posted on the site, creating a public discussion on these subjects.
